How do you get red finger nail polish out of carpet?

Remove as much as possible using a dull knife or spoon. apply non-oily nail polish remover to a clean white cloth and gently rub ( one direction at a time) or blot at the spot. Do not allow nail polish remove to get to the latex backing.

To remove the nail polish remover: Apply a small amount of detergent solution ( 1/4 teaspoon of Dawn or Joy hand washing dish soap to 1 qt. water). Blot with a white paper towel to work the detergent into the affected area. Next, spray lightly with water, but instead of blotting, apply a pad of paper towels, weight them down with a book or brick until dry then brush the pile up.

If stain remains, moisten tufts of carpet with 3% hydrogen peroxide and let stand for 1 hour. blot and repat until carpet is stain free. Because light will change peroxide to water, there is no reason to rinse. Apply a pad of paper towels and weigh them down until dry. Then brush up the pile of the carpet. How do you get red finger nail polish out of carpet?
here is the real question, how do u get it in carpet?
Most of the time acetone or fingernail polish remover will not only remove the polish but the color from the carpet, as well, especially if there is a nylon fiber content. I would head for the nearest closet, take along a utility knife, cut out a square large enough to cover the hole, carefully cut around the polish, remove the plug and insert the one from the closet and hot glue it into the hole. You can put the polish stained plug into the closet the same way.
To remove carpet stains caused by nail polish, just use nail polish remover! Pour onto a cotton ball or clean cloth and blot until the polish has disappeared. Blot again with clean water to remove all residue. Remember, when cleaning carpet stains, especially those made by nail polish, it's important to blot. Don't rub or the nail polish will spread.Good Luck! :)
If it is dry then you probably don't have a choice but to replace it. You can buy non-acetone compounds but, again, these don't work well on dry polish.

Anything more harsh; xylene, MEK will only ruin the carpet.

Call a carpet repair man and he may be able to cut it out and replace the section. They can do wonders if the carpet isn't that old.

Good luck!
You could use an acetone but this will take out the colour as you probably already know. The only other alternative would be to cut out a piece of carpet from an inconspicuous area, like the inbuilt wardrobe, and then cut the piece out with the nail polish and glue that piece you got into that. depending on what sort of carpet you have, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I did this when my carpet was burnt with a cinder from the fire place, it worked very well.
