take a look at this customized solution for fingernail polish. It's worked great for us in the past

I did that once, on my mum's best rug. In the end, I took a pair of scissors and snipped out the stiff bits, then I took bits I'd snipped from under the couch where it wouldn't show and glued them in place. Unless she reads this, she still doesn't know, and I left home years ago.
Acetone.

How do I get nail polish out of clothes?

So I spilled red nail polish on one of my favorite shirts %26amp; I can't get it out!

Any ideas? How do I get nail polish out of clothes?
Yes, you might have luck with nail polish remover and use a brush to scrub at it.

Good luck to you!How do I get nail polish out of clothes?
* Wipe Away Excess Polish. If the spill is fresh, carefully wipe away the excess polish with a paper towel or old cloth. There will probably be a stain left behind on the fabric that you will now need to work on removing.

* Use Nail Polish Remover. It might seem like an obvious idea, but you might not think to try nail polish remover on your clothing. While the remover can be a bit harsh on clothes, the fabric should be okay if you only use a little on the spot. If you are nervous about it, test the nail polish remover on an inconspicuous spot. To get the spot out, dab a paper towel or cotton ball with some polish remover onto the spot to lift it up. You might want to try a non-acetone remover since it could be less harsh. Don't use bleach.

* Bug Spray or Hair Spray. It may be strange, but many people have found this to work. If the polish remover doesn't seem to work, use a tooth brush and some bug spray and hair spray to scrub out the stain.

* Try a Special Cleaner. If nail polish remover or bug spray doesn't do the trick, you may want to try a cleaner made especially for this type of stain. You should be able to find these at your local store. Follow the directions carefully. You might also have luck with prewash sprays like Spray and Wash.

* Rinse and Wash. Once you have removed the stain, rinse with water and then throw in the wash.

If one method doesn't seem to work, try different ones until the stain is gone. It is likely that at least one cleaning method will do the trick. If the stain absolutely won't come out, take the garment to a professional cleaner's.
Depending on the color of the clothing, try nail polish remover if it doesn't come out soak the stained are in the polish remover for a minute or two and then machine wash.

OR

Try bug spray, Off Skintastic, Motsenbocker's Lift Off #3, or a can of acetone (and some Oxy Clean for washing afterward). I tried the bug repellent on one spot of the comforter and then Motsenbocker's on another. The bug repellent seemed to lighten the stain, but the Motsenbocker's was actually LIFTING the stain off of the fabric, so I switched to that. I had to spray, blot, and rub the spot with a soft-bristled toothbrush about 25-30 times, but IT COMPLETELY CAME OUT.If you use Motsenbocker's make sure you have a towel or something absorbent under whatever you are cleaning to catch the stain dripping through from the other side! if this doesn't work try the bug spray!!
Try hairspray. May have to spray and rub several times. Do this right before you wash it.
hgm i tried it dosent work

Is it true that most nail polish and nail polish removers are toxic or carcinogenic?

If so, what are the alternatives for someone who uses nail polish on a daily basis? Thanks. Is it true that most nail polish and nail polish removers are toxic or carcinogenic?
No, they're not. Most nail polishes (OPI, Rimmel, China Glaze, Essie, L'Oreal, NYC, Sally Hansen, etc) are free of the chemicals (toluene, formaldehyde, and dibutyl phthlate) that have been associated with cancer. However, even your nail polish contains those chemicals the chances of getting cancer from them is rare. You would have to literally huff your nail polish (if it has those chemicals I've listed) in a non ventilated room repeatedly to be at risk. As long as you're apply your nail polish in a well-ventilated room you should have no problems.

However, I like to play it safe so I opt for polishes free of the chemicals.

  • What is the best way to keep nail polish from chipping?

I've tried base coats, top coats, no coats. What works? I'm so sick of having to repaint my nails every 2 days! Is there some brand that works better than others? What is the best way to keep nail polish from chipping?
You can avoid chipping by making sure the nail is completely free of oils before applying your base coat. A top coat is also essential to give your manicure a longer life. Apply a second coat the next day, and then every second day after on your fingernails, and every week on your toenails. What is the best way to keep nail polish from chipping?
I have better luck with putting 2 coats of clear on the top the 1st day and then a new coat of clear everyday (you can only do this for so long tho) to chip it you have to chip thru the clear 1st. I always buff my natural nail before painting with anything with a VERY fine emory board 1st. Just run it across it a couple of times......NOT MUCH AT ALL. This ';roughs'; the nail up a bit and the base coat will stick better. It still looks and feels smooth.
Unfortunately if you have natural nails, polish just doesn't last long. Try not putting it on to thick and allow it to dry in between coats. You may also try getting them airbrushed, the airbrushing tends to last longer.
I've had very good luck with Seche Vite top coat - it should be available at a beauty supply near you. With my natural nails, it kept a fast dry polish on for almost a week, and a professional manicure stayed set for a whole week.

It's a bit pricy ($8-9), but I've found it well worth the money. :)
put a coat of clear polish on top
get a nail varnish that hardens the cover ...less likely to chip

How do you get nail polish out of carpet?

beige carpet four months old, tried nail polish remover but its just spreading it round more, the polish is black and purple. How do you get nail polish out of carpet?
I had this trouble ! Dont panic i found this helpful....by the way nail polish remover worked i used it sparinglyHow do you get nail polish out of carpet?
Remove as much of the nail polish as possible using a spoon or dull knife.

Apply a non-oily nail polish remover to a clean white cloth and gently rub (in only one direction at a time) or blot the spot. Continue until spot is removed. Do not allow nail polish remover to get to the latex backing. Go to the next step to remove nail polish remover.

Apply a small quantity of detergent solution to the spot. (To make the detergent solution mix 1/4 teaspoon of a hand dish washing detergent which does not contain lanolin or bleach with 1 quart of water; examples of safe detergents are Dawn庐 and Joy庐.) Use a blotting motion to work the detergent into the affected area. If spot is being removed continue applying detergent and blotting with a white paper towel until spot is removed.

Rinse with tap water using a spray bottle, blot to remove excess moisture.

Spray lightly with water, do not blot this time; apply pad of paper towels and brick and allow to dry.

If there is still some stain on the carpet and blotting is not removing it, then moisten the tufts in the stained area with 3% hydrogen peroxide. Let stand for on (1) hour. Blot and repeat until carpet is stain free. Light will cause peroxide to change back to water so no rinsing is necessary. Apply pad of paper towels and weight down with brick
I hear ya!My 2 yr old thought she needed to paint her toenails-she did manage to get SOME on her toes!!Persevere with the remover-i went through almost 3 bottles.Don't let the polish dry,it will be harder to remove.
Put nail polish remover on the stain then get a wet rag and rinse it out with hair shampoo on it then scrub at the stain with it. Then keep washing out the rag and doing it again also while at the hairshampoo scrubbing use a strong nail or scrubbing brush I did cleaning for 25 years wish I was there to help you.

Can you use human nail polish on horses?

I was planning to put a horse in a parade. And I looked on this website and the total was 43.80 dollars for two bottles of Horse polish. I thought that was a little pricey for one parade. My friends mother used human nail polish on her horse and I was wondering if it was ok to use human nail polish. Can you use human nail polish on horses?
Yes, I have done it with lime green on my horses hooves for a barrel race contest at our stable in the past (I suck at barrels, not for me lol). It was so cute with his lime green bell boots and splint boots.

It takes a lot longer though with that annoying little brush, and it took me quite a few bottles. But yes you can.Can you use human nail polish on horses?
yeah sure i think it would be fine. but i would only use small portions at a time to prevent overwhelming fumes. and idont think i would use remover... just let it wear off.
That is a terrible idea... use Twinkle Toes. Its made fore horses and it gets it done quicker
    Sarah

I use to use White shoe polish covered with glue and Glitter. I also used a silver saddle and it made a very pleasing look to the judges of the Parade Class.
It will be expensive because of how many bottles you have to go through, and your horse has to stand really still because it takes awhile longer to dry, and it takes a long time to apply with that little brush.

    It is okay, yes.
OH GOOD GRIEF NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT DO THAT!!!!!!! IT IS INHUMANE!!!!!!!!!

How do you remove nail polish from the kitchen floor?

I've tried nail polish remover and alcohol but it wont come out!How do you remove nail polish from the kitchen floor?
Let me guess you let your little girl paint her nails. That has happened to me too. I let her go to town and then clean it right off with commet mixed with baking soda. If that doesn't work paint thinner is something that might, but be cautious. VERY HARMFUL to children and animals. Magic Erasers are something to try too.How do you remove nail polish from the kitchen floor?
    Try paint-thinner.
TRY CLOROX AND LET IT SIT FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES
    Or try acetone.
If you don't have vinyl floors you can use acetone, but if you do have vinyl flooring try scrubbing with a green scrub pad and lots of elbow grease. :)

How would lipstick or nail polish interact with my face?

Particularly on the cheeks and forehead region. I'd like to use it as a form of face paint. Would they clog up my pores, make it so my skin can't breathe, or what? How would lipstick or nail polish interact with my face?
Nail polish would be terrible for your face, and it is designed to coat the nails and thus would coat the skin and clog pores and there is a likelyhood that your skin would react to all the chemicals in nail polish as well. Lipstick would work fairly well, but I warn you that it can stain your skin. Personally I would say that you would be best off sticking to actual face paint.

How do you get nail polish and gum out of the carpet?

I have tried nail polish remover to try and get the polish out but it hasn't worked. Any Ideas? Also there is dried gum on the carpet, scaping is not getting it out. (By the way I have a 3 yo who made the messes, not me).How do you get nail polish and gum out of the carpet?
How to Remove Grum out of Carpet

    1. Scrape away as much of the gum as you can using a spatula or spoon (to protect carpet fibers).

    2. Vacuum or brush away loose pieces.

    3. Rub the remaining gum with a plastic bag filled with ice until the gum is frozen.

    4. Chip away the frozen gum fragments using a spatula or spoon.

    5. Dissolve any final traces of the stuff by dabbing with a small amount of dry-cleaning fluid. Blot.

    6. Blot on a detergent solution of 1/4 tsp. mild dishwashing liquid and 1 cup (8 fl oz/250 ml) warm water.

    7. Rinse thoroughly.

    Overall Tips:

You can try this remedy to remove gum from clothes or shoes, too.

Some citrus-based products, such as Orange-Sol or De-Solv-It, break down the stickiness of gum so that it is easier to remove.

How to Remove Nail Polish out of Carpet

    1. Pour dry cleaning fluid over the stain.

    2. Blot with a dry, white cloth.

    3. Apply a small amount of mild liquid detergent to the stain.

    4. Blot again with the cloth.

    5. Flood the stain with water.

    6. Blot again with the cloth.

    7. Pour a small amount of ammonia on the stain.

    8. Blot again.

    9. Apply a little more liquid detergent to the stain.

    10. Blot again.

    11. Flood the area with water.

    12. Blot one last time.

    Tips:

Dry cleaning fluid can be purchased at a home supply store or a dry cleaners.

Always test the cleaning solutions on an inconspicuous area of the carpet before applying them to a large area.

Use a white cloth rather than a colored one to prevent any dyes from coming off on the carpet.

As you blot, keep turning the cloth so that you are using a clean, dry section to pick up the stain and the cleaning fluids from the carpet. Don't rub.

If using a brush to help clean the stain, always brush from the outer edges of the spill inward to prevent the stain from spreading.

    Warnings:

Do not use nail-polish remover as it may bleach the carpetHow do you get nail polish and gum out of the carpet?
My son also did the nail polish ';trick'; when he was two. How lovely...lol. All I did was get a pair of scissors and CAREFULLY trim out the polish and gum. But make sure that you don't over trim or you will have bare spots in your carpet. Just trim the top layer where it shows the most and don't worry about the rest down below.
There is a product out there called Stain Devils by Carbona. They come in little yellow bottles at the grocery store ( in the laundry section). There's one specifically for chewing gum. The stuff stinks to high heaven, but it works.
I would try Oops water based spray from Homax, it works great on many types of sticky stuff.
Hi there, if you have already tried nail polish remover to no avail then it would be a waste of my time to tell you to do so. But as far as the gum in the carpet try freezing it with icecubes or you can buy a product in a can ( professional carpet cleaners use it ) it freezes on contact and then scrape it off. Worked for me but cannot for the life of me remember what it is called. I would say as far as your polish in the carpet to try straight acetone but don't want you to ruin your carpet ( acetone is the main ingredient in polish remover). And as far as you not doing the ';mess'; that is just a given hun, LOL!!!!! Try not letting your little darlin play with nail polish in the carpet area, easier said than done hey? Good luck.
with gum you need to use an ice cube first to really harden if it's older then try goo gone works great on any sticky stuff just spray and let sit then spray again and use dry cloth to rub off or wipe off

for nail polish boiling water with a little laundry detergent and scrub brush to soften then rinse with boiling water

Thanks. What are the best nail polish colors for someone with skin on the pale side and yellowish undertones?
I'd say it would depend on if your wanting to bring out your paleness. If you want your skin colour to stand out i would try using dark colours as it would be a contrast to your skin and bring attention to it. If you don't wont your nails to stand out just use a light colour or even clear because then it's just your normal nail colour but shinny! What are the best nail polish colors for someone with skin on the pale side and yellowish undertones?
    brown
I would use like a pale pink or a light blue. My skin is pale also, but when I use a light blue polish, my hands look great!
Girl - you betta go'head! Pale-skinned ladies can get away with all the bright colors and look so good! Get that fire engine red, bright orange- any colors that will pick up. Just keep ';Betty Boop'; in mind. That black hair, and white skin with bright red polish kept them hopping around for decades....If you're not that bold - try some 'frosty; shades. But if I were you - I'd go for it. When in doubt - check out the makecounter ladies. They can really be of help.

Nail polish remover. It won't harm glass. If you don't have any, you can scrape it off with a straight edge razor blade.
i don't see why it wouldn't match the holiday decor as you say. the holidays are a time for hope happiness and humor. all of these things are represented perfectly by a smiley face drawn by the gift of a child. you even have the benefit of seeing your own face at the same time. it can be like a template for you to imitate if you are feeling sad. just make the face you see right next to yours. it sounds like your daughter is an artistic genius!!

The link i'm posting is for a place that sells MOOD POLISH, i don't if this is exactly what you want but theres lots of different coloured polishes that change colour with heat.

I don't live in the U.S so i don't know of any shops there but this place sells online.

    Hope i've helped :) x
You can buy it online at these places below. Other than that...I would try calling around to beauty supply places. Or call a local nail salon and ask them if they have it. You can buy bottles of polish from the salons most of the time.

How do you remove the nail polish from inside the nail polish bottle?

how do you get a somewhat full nail polish bottle. like has a little nail polish in it. and remove all the polish to get a nice clean empty container. and how do you do this fast and easy. what do you guys think i should do?How do you remove the nail polish from inside the nail polish bottle?
Use nail polish remover. Pour out as much nail polish as possible. Pour about a capful of nail polish remover into the nail polish bottle. Cap it and shake vigorously, then empty this mixture into a sealable, disposable container. Nail polish remover's active ingredient is flamable and toxic, so don't just toss it down your sink, or into your trash. Pour more clean nail polish remover into the bottle, seal, shake, and empty as before, and repeat until the nail polish bottle is clean. Use of a pipe cleaner may help to scrub out any stubborn residue, but if the polish has not dried it should be simple to clean. How do you remove the nail polish from inside the nail polish bottle?
Agree with the above--dump what's still in there in the garbage, fill the bottle with nail polish remover, put the lid on, and shake it. It will probably take a while, and you may end up needing to use q-tips to get all of it. Also agree with not using it for anything you plan on consuming.
    swish polish remover in it

although do NOT use the bottle for anything you would consume
put acetone in the bottle screw top on tight and shake, repeat this till it's clean

I go with Animelov, and they can last 2-3 days if you don't rub them or anything. If you want it to last longer put a clear coat on it.

    And the most expensive?

How can I remove nail polish from my carpet and sofa?

I have nail polish remover but I'm afraid this will also take the colour from the carpet and sofa as well. Any suggestions gratefully receivedHow can I remove nail polish from my carpet and sofa?
If it has already dried, try peeling/scraping it up (or cutting it out of the carpet). From my experience, using acetone tends to spread it and make it look worse. How can I remove nail polish from my carpet and sofa?
try a small spot %26amp; see if it removes the color. Maybe a non-acetone nail polish remover.
    With nail polish remover, silly
    go here professional advice.........
    From ';Mary Ellen's Clean House';:

    ';Apply drycleaning fluid or (on non-acetate carpets) acetone or nail polish remover.';

I think it depends on the type of fabric/material. I would have used acetone straight off but it looks like you can't use it on some synthetic materials.

Probably best to spot test the solvent in an inconspicuous area, and if possible, get some advice from the carpet vendor and sofa manufacturer.
If nail polish remover doesnt work you need a new carpet and sofa!
    vinegar and lemon juice,,,
you will want to first try a hidden area to test the fabric but acetone will normally work. or if you have any lacquer or paint thinner you can dilute it be using a damp wash cloth %26amp; then applied it to the cloth
wipe with kitchen paper, then flush with nail polish remover (do not use on some man-made fabrics). Use methylated spirits to remove the remaining colour.
    Call a professional carpet cleaner.
try peanut butter, it works on gum
1 thing u can do is soak some cotton in kerosene oil n then try to remove it.

    Hope it works

How do i keep nail polish from chipping?

What do the salons use? Everytime i get my nails done, the polish lasts for weeks but when i do it, it's chipping the next day!How do i keep nail polish from chipping?
That used to happen to me all the time before my grandma gave me her great tip! Get nail glue and a clear coated nail polish, put at least 5 drops or nail glue in the clear coat polish. then every time you paint you nails a certain color put the nail glue/clear coat over them! it will really help!(:How do i keep nail polish from chipping?
wash hands first and clean nails thoroughly.put your normal coat and. once dry paint a line of nail polish at the very top of your nail, then once that is dry, do another coat as usual. this stops it from chipping as it has more coats on the tip. make suree your cuticles areare evenly pushed down and file all of the nails evenly.dont use heavy coats as this makes it more likely to chip as it is clumped together.in salons we use a clear coat above this also to ensure extra protcetion., sally hansons is one of the best also OPI is very good and not to pricy. you can purchase a bottle from your local salon..hope this helps.
Salons use Opi, the Cadillac of polishes. It's not too much more than branded drugstore stuff, so I'd suggest it based upon reputation. I think you can find it online if you don't want to buy it at the salon, but I can't guarantee that stuff's authenticity (Chinese factories bootleg some pretty inexpensive things!). Also, try applying a topcoat for protection and putting on a second layer of the polish.

People are suggesting Sally Hansen. Del Lab's Hansex Xtreme Wear and preium NYC do both hold up well for the low-maintenance sorts.
Before you paint your nails, make sure it is clean from any residue. Wash your hands with soap and clean each nail with alcohol. (Technically, you can skip the washing hands part.)

Then use a thin base coat, the color (2 thin coats) and a good quality top coat. Try to keep it thin, it will last longer.

Also try to let it fully dry, use cuticle oil to coat each nail (prevent it from smudging) and run it under cold water (helps it harden quicker).

    Hope this helps!
I've found that investing in a bottle of base coat is a big help. Then put two coats of the polish on, then a coat of clear polish. The key if you want it to stay perfect it to reapply the clear coat every two days. Anything less and I start to get chipping. Also, buying expensive, high quality nail polishes like Opi should help.

    Cheers!
Well salons use a thick clear coat of polish. I like using this Sally Hansen polish. It's made to strengthen nails but it's great at protecting polish. It also gives a high shine to polish. You can get it at most pharmacies or anywhere that nail polishes are sold.
What I do when I do my nails at home is put a titan strength undercoat then let that completely dry and then apply the nail polish (2 coats usually) and once again let that completely dry. Then I finish with a non-chip top coat. It usually lasts at least a week or 2. good luck
I always have several bottles of clear nail polish around. I try to recoat every day or every other day to keep the color nail polish on. I also try to make sure I moisturize my hands and cuticles every day. It keeps the cracking down to a minimum.
First do your nails, than put a top coat or clear color on top...I myself don't do my nails much (sadly I'm a biter) but you may have hope! My mom also gave me this stuff that's called cuticle cream and you rub it around the outside of your nails.
one thing is to make sure you put it on thin! it lasts so much longer when you put it on thin and even. also, a primer before you paint and a top coat after really help it.
file down you nails with a really good nail filer

put on at least 3 coats of the nail polish on each finger

    -wait to dry-

put on 1 layer of clear coat nail polish

    then you're all set!

    Merry Christmas chicka [:
They use a good quality base coat and top coat. It also helps to have your nails well filed so they are ripping and chipping, causing your polish to do the same thing.
I put a clear coat or two over the top of the color. Make sure to put it on evenly so it won't chip in certain area's and not others. Hope i helped.
well, i get top coat and pain it on every day or so, but be careful b/c if you put too much, then you get like....bubbles, so careful

    hope this helped
well if it's chipping the next day try putting 2 coats of polish on, then use clear to go over it.

sorry I don't know what the salons use.
Dont touch or play with your nails, if thats out of the quesion then a clear coat. Eentually all nailpolish will chip though.
Try a base coat, then your desired polish, and then a strong top coat. Good Luck!
Usually they use a clear overcoat. I suggest Sally Hanson Hard As Nails.
there is this one thing that i use its like a top coat thing that u can buy at drugstores and it usually makes it last a couple weeks
Don't use cheap polish and use a clear coat on top.
Base coat polish and top coat polish!
Just do many rounds and then put some clear nail polish over
you have to buy a certain clear nail polish that does just that

your nail polish might not be very good or you could put a clear coat on
Put a heavy clear coat on!
try a top coat many times
u should pot 2 heavy coats of clear
    put ore on

Why is getting your nails done every week out of the question? If it's a money issue, fine, but if you're worried it may harm your baby in any way it won't.

Anyway, I just use a regular remover and make sure I wash my hands well afterwards. They do make kinds that are non toxic, odorless, and hypoallerginic though if that is something you're looking into:

use nailpolish remover.. duhHow do you get nail polish out of a wood floor?
The problem w/nail polish remover is that it'll also take the finish off of the floor %26amp; leave a ';dead-spot'; of unfinished floor. I suppose if you must you could try using it w/ a Q-tip %26amp; really gently dab on the spot %26amp; quickly blot (don't smear or you'll probably wreck the floor) it up w/tissue paper.

If you wreck the floor then you'll need to try to match the color w/a stain %26amp; when the stain is dry going over it w/polyurethane (probably a satin finish)

    Good luck.

use nail polish remove on an old toothbrush and scrub it out then to get the smell of the remover out just wash it.How to get finger nail polish out of a blanket?
Soak it in spray in wash, just the part that has the nail polish. pour the whole bottle into a small bowl, tie the blanket just leaving where it has the nail polish on it and put that part in the spray and wash for about 30 minutes to really soak it. don't do it over night, that could leave it damaged, I am not positive if it would or not. But, after you soaked it, squeeze SOME excess off, and untie it, leave it sitting for 5 minutes and then put it in the wash. If this doesn't help, take it to the dry cleaners and ask if they could take it out, no need for a new blanket. And if it is white use regualar bleach with the spray and wash, if it is colored, use color safe bleach.

  • What is the best nail polish brand out there?

I've currently been using this stuff by BON-BONS, but it doesn't stay on very long (my toes it stays on forever though). Are there any better brands out there? What is the best nail polish brand out there?
Gotta go with OPI.The are always coming out with new collections, with the best and latest colours. What is the best nail polish brand out there?
Yeah, OPI is pretty good, but I feel it is way overrated by people. What makes a polish 'good' is the formulation of the chemicals used during the manufacturing process. Nail polishes are essentially all made of the same basic chemicals - with some variation. It's the amount and type of each chemical used, and the manufacturing process in which these chemicals are made into the resulting nail polish which makes all the difference in quality - not the price tag on the bottle. There are polishes available for only a couple dollars a bottle which perform equally - if not better than more expensive brands, such as OPI.

That's the nail polish piece. Important, yes. But there is more to it. First, always start with squeaky clean nails. Make sure your cuticles have been pushed back and that the nail is free of any leftover cuticle skin. Then, use 99% Isopropyl Alcohol or even polish remover on a lint free nail wipe and clean your nails immediately before polishing your nails. Scrub each nail well, and be sure to get the entire surface of the nail clean including near the cuticle area and the sidewalls (the sides of your nails where the skin meets the nail). The idea is to remove as much naturally occuring oils and other contaminents from the natural nails as possible. Avoid washing your hands for at least two hours prior to polishing your nails. Water will be absorbed into the nail plate and if they have not thoroughly dried - which takes about two hours, then the polish will not adhere as well. Next, use a HIGH quality basecoat before applying any polish. Not all basecoats are created equally. The cheaper basecoats do not perform as well as high quality brands. High quality basecoats will create a sort of double sided tape effect on your nails which the polish will adhere to much better than if basecoat was not used. It will also help to prevent staining from the polish by forming a 'protective' barrier between your natural nails, and the polish. Lastly, polish will 'glide' on much more smoothly when a high quality basecoat is used.

After basecoat - and one thin application is usually sufficient, apply the polish in two, thin coats over the basecoat which - by the way, should not be allowed to thoroughly dry before applying polish. It works best when it's still a little wet. Allow basecoat to dry only a minute or two before polishin your nails. Let the polish dry between coats. Then finish your nails with a good quality topcoat. Topcoat, and clear nail polish are not the same thing. Use a topcoat. You can get fast drying topcoats, but honestly? The longer your nails are allowed to dry on their own without the use of fast drying products, drying sprays, drops, or anything else which speeds up the drying process - the better. While it may sound appealing to reduce the time it takes to polish your nails, speeding up the process i any way affects the gloss of the polish when it's dried. It will usually be less glossy, and will look often dull and uneven. The end result - when properly air dried, will be longer lasting polish with a high gloss, durable finish which should remain chip free for at a week or more.

I hope this helps. (Sorry this was soooo long!)
I would definitely buy Sally Hansen!!! they have any color you can think of and you can buy them at any drug store . they have the french tip white, anything your looking for. the color also lasts about 6+ days for me (if you want it on that long!) so i would definitely buy that. XD

I need to know wha product to use to get nailpolish of my leather couch. Thank you!How do I get nail polish off my leather couch?
Best Answer - Chosen By Voters

Please do not try nail varnish remover or any other solvent as this will remove finish and possibly colour from the leather.

You may be lucky and find that it peels off depending what type of leather you have. If it does it may still leave a mark or remove the colour.

Nail varnish remover will definitely remove the pigment from your suite as well as the nail varnish, you will then have another difficult problem to resolve. No available cleaners for leather will remove this type of damage so you have to resort to solvents which like the nail varnish remover will remove pigment. Therefore this is a job for a trained leather technician.

Contact LTT on 01423 881027 to find a trained technician in your area if you are in the UK. Please be warned that any DIY remedies you find WILL damage your leather and it is best left to the professionals.

What is the best way to apply nail polish?

Is there any special treatment that i should give to my nails so that the nail polish stays? How much time approximately will it take to dry because i hate sitting with my hands spread for hours doing nothing. Tips anyone? What is the best way to apply nail polish?
I remember reading a comment like this not so long ago!

    Try this...

First soak your hands in some soapy water (or after a bath will work.) Then trim, file, and buff your nails. Then use a product to moisturize your cuticles - Sally Hansens is great. Then push back and trim your cuticles. Next wash hands very well with a nail brush (or an old toothbrush will work) to remove all oils. Dry them very well. Apply a thin base coat and take it over the tips of your nails. Then apply two thin coats of your favorite color. Make sure you roll and don't shake your color. Allow each coat to dry completely about 5-10 minutes depending on the brand. Make sure your polish is fresh and not thick on the brush. After applying the color finish with a top coat and again take it over the tips of your nails. Wait about five minutes and use Sally Hansens quick dry or baby oil over the tops.

My favorite brands are Sally for base and top coats and Revlon for color. They can last a year or even more if you keep the lid on tight and don't leave the brush out for too long at a time. I've found that the Quick Dry type don't last as long, if you are really worried about longevity. Just throw it out when it looks thick on the brush - you can try adding nail polish remover but it'll never be the same, it looses its luster. What is the best way to apply nail polish?
apply a moisturiser before applying nail-paint after applying the nail paint apply a transparent nail paint coat use oriflame for best results and healthy nails
use some clear nail polish first then red or any coler than clear
well ask me to polish them............lol
color coat first once that dries add acoat of clear polish. if you do it outside it will dry faster but if its cold outside it might take longer..good luck
Apply a base coat first, then I would apply just a few layers of colour..give 30 mins in between to dry. Finish with a good nail top coat like DeMert and it'll last you for about a week!
tell to your boyfriend to put nail polish so u not be bored also okieeeeee
hmmm personal choice but my nail polish lasts longer if i do two coats of the same colour, one after the other. it also makes the colour brighter and more flawless looking!
you need your nail polish to be thin! if it is clumpy it will only make your nails look tacky!

add nail polish remover to your thick nail polishes... but be careful with the amount that you add. too much could destroy your nail polish all together.

sit your nails in cold water. this will help it to dry faster!

Do not peal around the outside until after all coats are dry and the skin on your hands is wet from either a bath or shower! this will make pealing off the nail polish much easier!
u put the nail polish and thn apply some cold water
I wash my hands, using a nail scrubber to get under the nail. dry hands. Take some olive oil, any kind and a drop or two on each finger. Rub into the cuticle. Take a orange wood stick, or cuticle pusher, and gently push back cuticle. I then use a 3 or 4 sided shapers and even out the edge and surface of the nail. wash my hands again - if it still seems oily, use some rubbing alcohol on the nail and cuticle. You want to get rid of all oil!

Use a decent base coat. after using it on all fingers, start with the first finger again, and apply thin coat of color. Apply a 2nd thin coat, if needed. Use a good top coat, like Seche Vite - it dries fast and really makes the polish more long lasting. ( I buy it at Trade Secret - usually in malls in US)

Put top coat on every other day. Should last a while, even if you work in a hospital like me, washing hands often.
you can pay the money and have it professionally done or just put fake nails on or you could put some of that clear stuff on that makes your nails healthy it makes your nail polish stick.
Make sure your nails and clean and dry. Use a little polish remover to make sure there is no oil left on your nails. Then brush a light coat of vinegar on them and let it thoroughly dry.

Then use a light buffing tool like a sand turtle (fine) to roughen up your nails.

The first coat should be a good base coat (like OPI) and let it dry completely (maybe 10 minutes). Then two coats of polish, letting each coat dry, and follow with a good top coat like Seche Vite. The next day, apply one more coat of top coat.

Your nails will look like they were professionally done, and they will last as long as you can expect. If you are hard on them, maybe two to three days on natural nails. If you have a lighter touch, then as much as 5-6 days.

On Gels, you can get maybe two weeks out of a coat of polish.
wipe ur nails down b4 u do any thing, to remove any grease and dirt from the nail.....then apply a base coat,,,let dry for 2 mins.....apply your colour with a minimal amount on ur brush to avoid clumping, if u h8 waiting for ur polish 2 dry, invest in a quick dry nail spray... and make sure u apply a top coat this adds a glossy shine and provides strength to stop ur polish chipping

Is it safe to use human nail polish to paint my dogs nails?

I've been painting my chihuahua's nails for 2 years and I've used human nail polish mostly and have never had a problem but people have told me its unsafe. Is it safe to use human nail polish to paint my dogs nails?
I have painted my dogs nails as well and have never had any problems. As long as the dog doesnt chew on their nails i dont see why it would hurt them.Is it safe to use human nail polish to paint my dogs nails?
I have done my dogs nails for a long time now myself with human nail polish also. I've never had a problem but if you are concern Iresently came across O.P.I has a dog nail polish line. They don't have that many colors but I'm guessing this would be healthier then just regular polish. If you go to Petedge.com they also have a line of polish and they have WAY more colors.
We take my dog to Petsmart to paint her nails, and we asked them if it is safe to paint her nails with regular nail polish and they said that it probably wont kill her, but they just recommended going to the store and get non toxic washable markers or that window paint stuff ( that is what they use).
Not only are some dogs sensitive to the nail polish but some nail polishes have toxins in them. I dont think it would kill the dog, might not even make them sick, just not healthy. Ask your vet though. You could always check with the groomer too and see what they suggest.
Some dogs are sensitive to the smell of nail polish, and if you have a dog that tends to lick its paws then it wouldn't be a good idea, but if you've been doing this for several years I doubt your dog will suddenly start having a problem with it.
Yes. The nail polish can get annoying to the dog, and it can lick it. Its just like a human licking nail polish, it wouldn't taste good, and the dog can get sick. It's also bad to have a dog smelling the nail polish.
Why are you painting your dogs nails? The fumes are toxic and I am sure your dog does not enjoy the experience. You are putting your dogs health in jeopardy. People who paint their dog's nails are doing it for their own entertainment rather than thinking about the dog.
I would say it's safe only if your dog doesn't chew on a lot of things. Nail polish can be very bad for a dog if it were to eat the nail polish.
    Yes its safe
You have a dog! Not a toy

How do I remove nail polish from a black leather seat?

My 6 yr old ran her ';wet'; nails across our new bar stools. If I use normal nail polish remover I feel it will harm the leather and make it worse. Anyone got any ideas? How do I remove nail polish from a black leather seat?

Leather care consultants to the furniture and cleaning industriesHow do I remove nail polish from a black leather seat?
acetone free nail polish remover... this will work! done that before but be careful do not pour on the leather, just dab some on cotton wool and then wipe away the nail polish! good luck
Try an exfoliator, you know a facial scrub. There are gentle enough to put on your face and the mild abbrashive should lift the stain out without damage
I think that the nail polish remover would take the colour out of the seat...just clean it with a wet cloth...
Nothing will fix that leather short of redying the whole top.

You can buy leather dye on the net for about $5 or less to do that job. I redyed two leather office chairs to black from an old avacado green for about $15 in dye costs. They are now in my waiting room at the office for guests to use.
if its real leather it wont burn, get a lighter heat up the nail polish and wipe away with a damp cloth, be carefull and good luck.
If you leave it it will probably flick of as the varnish and leather polish do not mix.

If it does mark the leather on flicking of there is a substance available from leather furniture stores that will clear the spots.

Why did your 6 year old have nail varnish on? You are aware that it is hazardous and kids put fingers in their mouths, therefore I think that I would be more concerned that a 6 year old had nail varnish on frankly.
You could try using an acetone free nail polish remover, the kind you use for acrylic nails

What is a great nail polish color for the first day of school?

Becasue the first day of school for me is coming up and i wanna wear sumthing special. SO what do you suggest? What is a great nail polish color for the first day of school?
    French TIPS all the wayyy!

they are classy and match with everything.

and that way on the 2nd day of school your nails still match :)

plus u can get a 2nd line a different color.

I prefer silver because it draws attention to your nails.

besides if you go full color you will be busy running round the school and likely they will chip.

Frenchies don't look as bad chipped as full on do.What is a great nail polish color for the first day of school?
As someone previously said, matte finished nail polish is really in at the moment. Though, it's hard to find. I think a dark purple or red would be a good statement color. It's not too bright, which could label you as really preppy the first week or two of school, but it's not too dark, which could make people think you were goth or emo or something.. I'm thinking of a cherry-red color! It's classic, and guys think reds are sexy. :)
Matte navy is in I found on called OPI Matte Nail Lacquer in Russian Navy a girl is wearing in Seventeen Magazine in the 2009 August issue on pg. 83. But a bright hot pink would be nice or bright lime green. But when the fall comes in September it won't be cute to wear bright colors since they are about to go out of style
I have this awesome color, named Micah.

Its a really cheap brand though, its like. 60 seconds..?

but its a gorgeous color, and looks great on everyone.

its a goldish color if you dont know what micah looks like..
I say metallic just because it's a beautiful when the lights hit it or not, many people don't wear it often which makes it different, and it can go with more than plenty of outfits! X D
well whatever matches your outfit! and well if it were me i would go and get a manicure. or get a zebra print or checkered done (i have friends that have their nails done like that and its cute!)
opi in ';here today eragon tomorrow'; its a really dark green color

and maybe anything in essie they have really cute colors :)

oh and matte nail polish is supposed to be real popular this year :)
i love the blue or pink but it depends on what ur wearing

How do you get nail polish off of a wood table???

My daughter decided to ';paint'; the kitchen table with nail polish. I know not to use nail polish remover. The area is about 6 inches across. How do you get nail polish off of a wood table???
Actually, using non-acetone nail polish remover shouldn't damage it too much. Just be sure to use a wood cleaner (the kind that moisturizes) right afterwards. How do you get nail polish off of a wood table???
    GOOF-OFF
Gonna have to use the polish remover!
Do not use any chemicals to remove nail polish from furniture. Anything capable of dissolving nail polish is more than capable of dissolving wood finishes. My advice is if you want to keep the wood table in original condition, hire a professional.
    STAY AWAY FROM:

    *goof off!

    *Reg. cleaners

    *water (it stains!)

    NEED TO USE:

    *non-acitone

    *polish remover (be careful)
Mix equal quanties of vinegar and olive oil and rub on nail polish with a cloth dipped in warm water. may need to be repeated
I totally agree with Confused.....great advice!

How do i get rid of a nail polish stain on my carpet?

i droped red nail polish on my carpet and i dont no how to get it out!..Please help! How do i get rid of a nail polish stain on my carpet?
Nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol.

Tip #1: Any non-acetone finger nail polish remover will take that off and not hurt the carpet. Take a paper towel soak it down a little and wipe it off. Try to keep the area contained that you rub, at first it will look like you are smearing it around, just keep changing paper towels with a new one until stain is gone. You need to change your cloth several times so you're not sliding polish over a bigger area. When done a liquid dish soap will get the smell out of the carpet.

Tip #2: I use the polish remover and blot, then GooGone works to remove the remaining stain.

Tip #3: When I spilt fuschia nail polish on my carpet I saturated it with non-acetone nail polish remover and scrubbed it with a white cloth. After the color stopped coming out on cloth (and it was still slightly pink on the carpet) I made a mixture of liguid dish soap, hot water and bleach and continued scrubbing until the nail polish came out (for white carpets only). If that doesn't work for you try using a fabric marker from a craft store and color over the stain.

Tip #4: I spilled dark purple nail polish on my light grey carpet. When I tried nail polish remover it didn't do a thing. Then a friend told me to try window cleaner and it worked great. I can't even tell it happened. How do i get rid of a nail polish stain on my carpet?
try with your own nail varnish remover, or with white spirits. Work inwards of the stain so you don´t spread the stain ,use cotton wool

put more nail polish on. It will go away i think my mom said it is because of the seal the nailpolish you had on doesn't allow the nail to breath or something like that I had that too and couldn't figure it out but It didn't go away overnightI have yellow nails after i removed the nail polish, How do i get rid of this by tommorow?
Hi dear! relax... no need to panic...

First, soak your nails in warm water mixed with mild liquid soap. Buff your nails gently then avoid using any nail polish. Your nails need to breath for a few days or maybe a week.

If it still wont work, then go to the nearest nail salon and have it fixed. You will look gorgeous then.

    Smile :-)
its a bulid up of colored polish. me and my friend have a terrible prob. with this try buffing them lightly!
is there really that level of silliness in the world?

!! millions of children are dying everyday from poverty, hunger and disease .. wars all over the world .. forests are being cut down, the earth is literally sinking by global warming . . and some people are panicing about yellow coloured nails after removing their nail polish ..

and even some sellier people answering that ..
    1. Use a common whitening toothpaste. Try scrubbing your nails with Pearl Drops, it's just as easy as achieving a pearly white smile and will take away any stains and shine up your nails.

    2. Soak your nails in water with lemon juice or lemon slices. The lemon acts as an astringent and will strip away stains. Once your hands are dry, you'll only need to put on a couple of coats of a clear topcoat.

    simply, put on another color..

    lol..

that thing wont come out until the nail grows enuff for u to cut it off..

and we know that wont happen by tomorw..

    dont worry thats normal.

Pour a little bleach like clorox in a small glass bowl

Soak your nails in it - take an old toothbrush or any kind of brush and and brush the underside of nails after soaking them in the bleach - do the other hand

    Repeat if necessary

    This works!!
Soak in lemon juice, or file your nails to remove the top (yellow) layer - condition with hand cream afterwards
u cant...its what happens when u wear nail polish..cos ur nails dont get any air and then the polish stains them..the best thing you can do is paint over them...the yellow doesnt go anway until it grows out!
I heard vinegar. My grandma told me.

When can you start wearing dark nail polish?

I've seen girls wearing it all summer, but I assumed dark shades were more for fall/winter. Can I start wearing dark nail polish now?

Any suggestions for good polish? When can you start wearing dark nail polish?
You can wear it whenever! :-) Find one that matched your skin tone. The only thing is, be careful what you wear with it because dark tones are much harder to coordinate. Dark purple was a hot summer color. Black looks awesome with a black or mostly black outfit! When can you start wearing dark nail polish?
It works for anytime, but you sure can now.
purple doesnt go with everything, but it goes with a lot black, orange, dark red, yellow, blue...

u can wear it now, its september, just dont go all dark, then it would be too soon
Gosh, I would say the first official day of fall you can start wearing dark nail polish. Yes, I have also seen the darker polishes during the summer, esp. on the celebs. I think anything goes these days. As far as suggestions, go to your local beauty supply store %26amp; see what they are displaying. I've noticed nail polish changes so frequently these days. I bet you will see a lot of the fall colors out, esp. OPI, they are usually the first to get theirs out. Hope I helped.....:)
wear what ever color you want, when you feel like it....

who cares what anyone else says....
you can wear any color any season. i think darker reds are more fall/winter. but i change my nail polish color all the time to match my outfits so i don't clash. but pick the right colors and outfit you can wear dark colors whenever

    Nail-polish remover

    Soap

    Acetone-based nail-polish remover

    Warm water

    Shallow bowl

Step1Do not attempt to tear or force apart the glue. This could rip your skin.

Step2Apply acetone-based nail-polish remover to the area. The acetone breaks down the bond.

Step3If there's a lot of glue on your skin, soak the skin in nail-polish remover to dissolve the bond.

Step4Clean the area with soap and water after removing the glue.

Step5If you don't have nail-polish remover, soak the affected skin in warm, soapy water.

Step6Slowly roll the skin to work the bond apart as the warm water soaks through. Continue doing this until the skin is free of glue. How do you remove super glue? Nail polish remover or windex or something potent yet a household item.?
Acetone nail polish remover will work, but I'm afraid anything that will remove glue might very well destroy your sandals.

What is the reason why nails become yellowish when you always use nail polish?

When I started using nail polish, I noticed after removing it that my toe nails became yellowish and brittle. What is the reason for this? Do you have any advice on how to strengthen my nails again? Does it mean that I should not wear nail polish for an extended period of time? What is the reason why nails become yellowish when you always use nail polish?
The main reason why nailz become yellowish is due to the colour of the nail varnish which ent removed completely..even after using a nail polish remover...Use a base coat before applying nail varnish..this will make sure your nailz wont appear yellow after removing the nail varnish...And yh do not keep on nail varnish for a long time..coz as i mentioned above..the colour gets absorbed...

    Drink lots of water

    Eat fruitz

Healthy diet...its same as takin care of your skin and that

Yu can find sum kinda creams n stuff to buy

    Jst hope that helpz lol

xXxXWhat is the reason why nails become yellowish when you always use nail polish?
they change color because of the chemical compounds of the nail polish...it's like poisoning your nails...

try not to use nail polish to often:)
its probably the remover. my toes did this too, and not only that, but there cracked.
yep. or u use stuff that strengthens the nails. like the ';hard as nails'; by sally...someone,i forgot the family name. %26amp;%26amp; u shouldnt use nail polish all the time, too
Its the dye in the fingernail polish that makes you nails look yellow. Just use a nail hardner and use clear fingernail polish for awhile and the yellow will go away. Get you a french manicure or an american manicure.
Because no air can get to your nails, after you've removed your nail polish, try letting it breath for a few days, then go back to putting nail polish on ;-)

    Hope I helped a bit ;-)
the nail vanish colour has stained your nail but dont worry you can still wear the nail vanish for as long as yuu want but before you put the colour on to your nails put a base coat of a clear nail vanish this will not only stop the nail from getting stained but also make your nails look better but make them stronger and make them look more profeshional

    I hope this help
Nails absorb everything. ya stop wearing nail polish for a little while and drink soy milk!

How to get nail polish out of clothes?

My daughter got nail polish on her pink denim overalls. I caught it right away and started working on the stain immediately. Here's what I have tried so far that DID NOT WORK!

    non-acetone polish remover

    acetone polish remover

    hairspray

    Shout

    Shout Advanced

    Zout

OxyClean (made a paste and let it sit)

Each of these tries involved scrubbing with a toothbrush. Is there anything else I can try?How to get nail polish out of clothes?
Here's what you so. Lay the nail polish side of the fabric on a 100% cotton washcloth, then pour acetone nail polish remover on the other side of the fabric, the washcloth will absorb the nail polish off of the fabric. You may have to this several times. Keep repositioning the washcloth to a clean area each time. You want to keep wicking away the nail polish off of the fabric and onto the washcloth. Never rub on the nail polish side, as you're only smearing the nail polish into the fabric. This never works.

You can also do this to get ink out of non-synthetic fabrics. But, use non-acetone polish for that, if the fabric isn't 100% cotton.

pick it off with your nails...
yea, this is wat i used to do:

first put a ton of new, wet nailpolish over ur nail, then quickly wipe it off with a cotton ball.

also, u can try scraping it off with ur finger nial, or any other sharp object

    good luck ;)
    scrath them off

How can I make my nail polish last longer on my nails?

I love coloring my nails. But after a week of application, I can easily notice that it is fading so I have to color it again. And I'm a tired of doing this. I want a low maintenance nail color because I'm kinda busy. Can you give me any advice? Thanks in advance. How can I make my nail polish last longer on my nails?
put nails in ice cold water after first time drying to harden nails. Every few days, put on top coat again! How can I make my nail polish last longer on my nails?
I would suggest using a base coat, then the color, and finishing with a top coat. This usually helps to prevent the coat from peeling or cracking away. Another great idea is to look for more expensive nail colors that say nail ENAMEL on them instead of polish. Nail enamel tends to last a bit longer and be stronger than regular polish. (Depending on the brand of course). So choose a higher quality polish. Hope this helps.
My mum is a beautician so i get all this free advice and makeovers and such.

    so to get nail polish lasting longer;

    1. put on a single layer of clear polish

    2. put on a layer of coloured polish

    3. put on another layer of coloured polish

    4. put on another layer of clear.

it will last for so long!

    hope that helps.

    x
put a clear coat on everyday or every other day and they should last longer... and i know you want it to be low maintenance so do it before you have to drive to work or something so they can dry while you drive
I usually put on one coat of the color of the polish, one coat of clear polish, and one last coat of the color polish. This lasts a really long time for me :D
Do a coat of the colour you want, and then do another with clear nailpolish.

I do this, and it lasts at least 3 weeks like that without getting rubbed off or chipped :)
I'll tell you what I do that makes my nail polish last so much longer.

    - use a nail hardening polish

    - a base coat polish

    - then your desired color

    - and a top coat!

It makes mine last so much longer!!
Sally Hansen's hard as nails clear coat as a base coat then the nail color and then another clear coat.
Once a week is actually a good amount of time for nail polish to last. You might consider an undercoat of nail hardener.
invest in a good quality rouge noir

    try the original chanel one

i think it's timeless and a worthy investment
Rinse them with ethyl acetate when you are done.
try a clear coat of nail hardener it always worked for me.
Try a clear coat of polish over top :)
    try using a finisher
put on sally hansen top coat polish..it makes nails stronger and they won't chip

  • How do I get rid of nail polish on my backpack?

so i wrote on my backpack with nail polish because i didn't think i was going to use it again. but it turns out my mom wants me too. so is there any way i can get rid of the nail polish? i've tried nail polish and coloring on it. nothing is working. How do I get rid of nail polish on my backpack?
HAVE YOU TRIED NAIL POLISH REMOVER? Or you can try acetone. This is found at Home Depot, Lowes or hardware store. Use a rag %26amp; wet with the acetone, then rub the nail polish you wish to remove. You might want to try another small spot on the bag to make sure it will not ruin anything else.

If you can scrape off any layered nail polish it will help. The removal will probably take several tries but it should work.

Good Luck. How do I get rid of nail polish on my backpack?
try zippo lighter fluid. just get a paper towel and get it good and wet with it, then hold it on the nail polish and see if it gets soft enough to take it off. if that doesn't work i dont know what will without dissolving the fabric.
lacquer thinner and a microfiber cloth will remove the nail polish. after cleaning, place backpack outside or in the garage until the smell dissipates...good luck...
Chip off what you can and then use W-D40. If that does not work then you need to go over it with a new design. Or spray paint it.

How can I get dark purple nail polish out of my white carpet?

So...My mom and I got in fight and she threw the phone in my room which knocked over a bottle of DARK PURPLE nail polish... It spilt EVERYWHERE.

There is one line( a fair size) of nail polish,

There is also a blob the size of a toonie.

I Didn't know about this incident until I came home to find it hardened.

Someone, PLEASE tell me how to get rid of it.

Thanks in advance. How can I get dark purple nail polish out of my white carpet?
Since it has hardened, you can try scrapping it up.

If that does not work, try mixing hot water and polish remover and scrubbing it with a scrub brush.

Lastly, if that STILL doesn't work- try OxyClean Heavy Duty Formula. It gets ALLOT of stains up, but I am not sure if it will work with nail polish. Try!!

Good luck. How can I get dark purple nail polish out of my white carpet?
Hopefully you have a carpet remnant laying around. If so you can use this as a patch. You will need to get a box cutter knife and cut around the stain. Remove the piece of carpet with the stain then cut a similar size and shaped piece out of the remnant. Then use some carpet glue to replace the piece you cut out. Let the glue dry then take a carpet rake and rake around the edges of the replaced piece to help blend it in with the surrounding carpet. Once it is good and dry you should be able to vacuum with no problems.

If done correctly you will not be able to see any evidence that you had to replace anything.

Or take the lazy way out and place something over the stain so it cannot be seen.
Unfortunately this will not come out. You can try to cut the fibers on the carpet down with scissors if the polish did not get to far down. Or you can cut the spot out. Cut a square shape around the stain on the carpet and replace the missing piece with extra carpet that you may have. You can also buy sample pieces at your local Home Depot. Or cut from a piece that is hidden in the closet or under a piece of furniture.
Same thing happened to me! Except it was dark cranberry red on light grey carpet. :S

Depending on the type of carpet, this is what you do. If yours is just regular carpet (i.e. strands of yarn sticking up), first you scrape off the top (hardened) layer first. Do this either by hand (picking/peeling off the bigger pieces) or using the dull side of a butter knife.

Next, snip off the stained tips of the carpet with manicure scissors. Be careful not to cut too much; you don't want it there to be bald spots on the carpet. ;)

Lastly, blot any remaining stained areas, including any that's seeped deeper into the carpet, with q-tips or cotton balls soaked in nail polish remover. BLOT, DON'T RUB! You will gradually see the colour leave the carpet and get soaked up by your cotton (have lots of clean ones handy).

Hope this helps. It's a time-consuming solution, but worth it if you're anal-retentive about doing a good job :)
YES YOU CAN!!!! Here's a blog on removing RED nail polish out of carpet... if it can remove red nail polish it will remove purple!! GOOD LUCK!

    http://blogs.findanyfloor.com/consumer/C…
Try everything at your disposal!! Oxy clean, Carpet cleaners, look for them at any grocery store....it is not guaranteed that it will take the stain away completely but it will take most of it away.
Try asking carpet layers.or sellers. They cut the stain out in a square%26lt; put sticky tape under neath the square , has to be the same size, and iron.
    Nail polish remover?

Or buy your Mum a lovely coffee table or something as a sorry type thing, and cleverly place it over the spill
