How do I remove nail polish from a black leather seat?

My 6 yr old ran her ';wet'; nails across our new bar stools. If I use normal nail polish remover I feel it will harm the leather and make it worse. Anyone got any ideas? How do I remove nail polish from a black leather seat?
You may be lucky and find that it peels off depending what type of leather you have. If it does it may still leave a mark or remove the colour.

Nail varnish remover will definitely remove the pigment from your suite as well as the nail varnish, you will then have another difficult problem to resolve. No available cleaners for leather will remove this type of damage so you have to resort to solvents which like the nail varnish remover will remove pigment. Therefore this is a job for a trained leather technician.

Contact LTT on 01423 881027 to find a trained technician in your area if you are in the UK. Please be warned that any DIY remedies you find WILL damage your leather and it is best left to the professionals.

acetone free nail polish remover... this will work! done that before but be careful do not pour on the leather, just dab some on cotton wool and then wipe away the nail polish! good luck
Try an exfoliator, you know a facial scrub. There are gentle enough to put on your face and the mild abbrashive should lift the stain out without damage
I think that the nail polish remover would take the colour out of the seat...just clean it with a wet cloth...
Nothing will fix that leather short of redying the whole top.

You can buy leather dye on the net for about $5 or less to do that job. I redyed two leather office chairs to black from an old avacado green for about $15 in dye costs. They are now in my waiting room at the office for guests to use.
if its real leather it wont burn, get a lighter heat up the nail polish and wipe away with a damp cloth, be carefull and good luck.
If you leave it it will probably flick of as the varnish and leather polish do not mix.

If it does mark the leather on flicking of there is a substance available from leather furniture stores that will clear the spots.

Why did your 6 year old have nail varnish on? You are aware that it is hazardous and kids put fingers in their mouths, therefore I think that I would be more concerned that a 6 year old had nail varnish on frankly.
You could try using an acetone free nail polish remover, the kind you use for acrylic nails
